HIE-Bridge™ is a Minnesota state certified Health Information Exchange (HIE) that is a service offered by Community Health Information Collaborative, a state certified Health Information Organization (HIO).

With HIE-Bridge, authorized users can electronically locate, request, and review vital information for treating a patient in a matter of seconds. Through this safe and secure network, healthcare providers and medical personnel can view important clinical information relating to a patient. This clinical information includes: medication history, insurance eligibility, lab results and images, and a patient summary. In the future, connectivity to Public Health Agencies for reporting to registries and viewing immunizations will be available through HIE-Bridge.

Additional services such as secure messaging, referral capabilities, and connectivity to the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) for SSA disability determination claims and clinical exchange with VA hospitals and clinics are also available.

Previously, doctors, nurses, and emergency response personnel utilized a manual, paper-based, or fax-based process to locate and exchange patient information, resulting in incomplete data at critical moments and increased chances for errors. Now, when using HIE-Bridge, healthcare providers will no longer be delayed by paperwork, faxes, or phone calls.
